The lure of the quiet life

So often, much of what we do is driven less by gospel priorities and more by the idol of comfort. Far from prioritising the things of Christ, we go after the lure of the quiet life.

Rarely does that mean we don’t serve at all. Total lack of service tends to mean guilt, which is quite uncomfortable. But we engage in just enough to assuage our guilt without ever really having to challenge ourselves to change.
