Be killing comfort or comfort will kill gospel growth

I have said before that the number one problem facing the Western Evangelical church today is, hands down, our own sense of comfort. You can read some thoughts on that here and here.

At church this week, we were considering Acts 8:1b-25. It struck me that, very often, we pray for gospel growth but we rarely consider the actual implications of that request.

In this short audio clip – taken from Sunday’s sermon – we discuss the fastest way to kill gospel growth and the catalyst the Lord often uses to spur gospel growth.

If we want the gospel to thrive… we are praying for the Lord to make us uncomfortable enough that the gospel may go out and grow.
