My wife shared this quote with me and I felt it worth putting out here:
I describe the work of an evangelist as being like someone who runs around the orchard giving trees a shake. If the fruit is ripe, it will generally fall off. If there is no ripe fruit, then it doesn’t matter how hard you shake, no fruit will fall. On the other hand, when the fruit is really ripe, sometimes it will drop off when a cow or an old horse walks by! This has helped me not to think more highly of myself than I ought. – John Chapman
