Here is your sometime reminder that my book on church eldership – Independent Eldership – is still available at some good booksellers. You can get it direct from Grace Publications here (you can get a hefty bulk buy discount this way) or, if you prefer your book sellers to be non-Christian, Amazon will serve you here. Day One and Eden will also oblige (don’t tell the publishers, but Eden are well undercutting them at the time of writing!) There are a few others you can find too if you prefer.
The book offers a case for Independent Church polity, how eldership fits within it and how various roles and people within the church ought to interact with the elders. The book begins with big biblical principles and moves into very specific practical outworking. It is helpful for both elders and members to understand their respective responsibilities in the church and how they can be biblically undertaken within the life of the local church.
If I could only recommend one of my books to you, it would be this one. If I could recommend two, I’d suggest reading this one in conjunction with the much shorter Being a Christian.
