Top 10 countries by number of views

I have, over the last few days, been providing an annual review of some of the stats and figures from this blog. I have shared a rundown of the most viewed posts written in 2025 as well as the most viewed posts of all time. I think they provide an interesting insight into what interests both those who come here regularly as well as those who share posts far and wide.

Today, in my final annual review post, I thought it would be interesting to share the stats on which countries refer the most readers. I am always fascinated by where readers come from. I appreciate in the age of VPNs some of these things may be a little skewed, but I don’t think that accounts for a lot of it.

As ever, wherever readers are coming from, I am exceptionally grateful to them for coming here at all. There are countless ways they could spend their time and lots of other sources of opinion they could access. That anybody would come here and engage with what is written is not taken lightly by me. I am thankful to each one who has read articles here.

Unlike previous days, I am going to offer the complete list of the top 10 countries by number of views. I think it is fascinating (though you will hardly be surprised by the top two!)

10. Indonesia

I was quite surprised by this one. Admittedly, it only made up 0.75% of this year’s views, but in actual numbers, that is several thousand views from Indonesia.

9. South Africa

Pushing just above 1% of views, but making far more sense as part of the anglophone world, there have been several thousand views from South Africa.

8. India

With only a difference of 500 views, India is the next highest referrer. Having had some regular Indian attendees at our church, it is plausible some articles may have been passed on to folk at home.

7. Nigeria

There are only about ten views difference between Nigerian and Indian referrals. Both have a significant anglophone population which makes some sense. We have also been blessed with a number of Nigerians who may well have shared articles with family at home.

6. Philippines

Another surprising entry, the Philippines comes in at number 6. It bears saying the difference between the bottom 5 places is minimal. Philippine referrals account for 1.1% of views whilst Indonesian referrals accounts for 0.75%. We are really splitting hairs between them. But pushing just over 4000 views have come from the Philippines.

5. Australia

Heading back into much less surprising anglophone territory, Australia comes in at number 5. The jumps up in physical numbers starts becoming steeper here. There has been well over double the number of visitors from Australia compared to the Philippines. Still, just under 3% of views have come from Australia.

4. Canada

More unsurprising anglophone entries here. I imagine particularly when referred by Challies or TGC, folk from Canada are more likely to find their way here. Still, only around 3.5% of views have come from here.

3. China

In a more surprising entry – not only that it is here at all but in its ranking – Chinese visitors also account for around 3.5%. There have been a near identical number of visitors from China as there have been from Canada. China pips Canada by about 100 views, but it is surprisingly highly ranked. These are views exclusively in 2025.

2. United Kingdom

The top two places are entirely unsurprising. What is perhaps more surprising is that there have been a greater number of views from the USA than from the UK. Most of my networks are UK-based and, historically at least, the UK has been by far and away the biggest referrer. UK views account for about 30% of all views in 2025.

1. United States of America

By some margin, the USA tops the rankings of referrals. Just under 40% of all views in 2025 came from America. This is almost certainly best accounted for by referrals from Challies and TGC. I have some American links that may have added to these things, but not nearly enough to account for the volume here.
