John Woods has written a review of my book Independent Eldership for Evangelicals Now. I will share a few quotes from the review with some commentary underneath. I have also included a link to the full review at the bottom of the post:
This volume by Stephen Kneale, who you may know from his Building Jerusalem blog, deals thoroughly with the topic of healthy leadership in 24 chapters.
24 chapters for 24 hours in the day. Get together to read a new chapter each hour followed by a set of interminable study questions at 3am. It’s the marathon readathon that no church has asked for!
I am not entirely convinced by this
This is the motto of my ministry.
I had placed a fair few question marks in pencil beside some of Kneale’s observation
Is it because he wasn’t entirely convinced by one point, large chunks or that I chose to write some chapters in Sanskrit? You will need to read the review and purchase a copy of the book to find out!
I noted Kneale’s high
I refuse to confirm or deny if I was on drugs whilst writing this book.
I was particularly taken with Kneale’s… breakfast at his church
John, however, was very hungry when he wrote his review.
I was pleased that Kneale made use of some of the fine writings of Clifford Pond
I was pleased to pass off someone else’s work as my own make use of his fine writings too.
Any church leader will find things in this book
That they will John, that they will.
