I am re-sharing this old one from the archive on the pressure of having a good day off. I think this is a particular challenge for those of us on a 6-day working week.
My circumstances have changed considerably from when I first wrote this. My children are much older and more self-sufficient and I am longer in the tooth. I have found some good and helpful patterns that seem to work helpfully for rest.
The pressure of a good day off remains, however. I’m not sure I’ve ever quite cracked it. Some are just better than others and such is life.
